Keynote: Dr Britt Hallingberg
Dr Britt Hallingberg is a Reader in Public Health at Cardiff Metropolitan University in Wales. Her research is on adolescent health and wellbeing, with a focus on understanding how these outcomes are shaped by leisure activities. She has a wide range of experience within applied research, working with stakeholders to develop and evaluate interventions that aim to reduce health and wellbeing inequalities, as well as co-authoring the UK’s Medical Research Councils’ guidance on adapting interventions to new contexts. Within the Centre for Health, Activity and Wellbeing Research (CAWR) at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Dr Hallingberg leads the Public Health and Wellbeing Research and Innovation theme, representing over 50 staff and early career researchers who work together to develop and test interdisciplinary solutions to challenges in local communities and health services. She is a Wales-team member of the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children Study (a WHO collaborative cross-national study of adolescent health and wellbeing) and is currently developing an international network of researchers on the topic of adolescent organised activities.

Featured Speaker: Dr. Jen Curry
Jen Curry, Ed.D. founded Change Impact in 2017, which has since trained 50,000 youth-serving professionals and raised $240 million for schools and nonprofits. Change Impact developed Change Up Learning to support anytime, anywhere training grounded in adult learning principles and positive youth development. Previously, Jen was the inaugural NYC Director of Samaschool, an innovative workforce development program, and COO of ExpandED Schools, an OST intermediary. She is an adjunct professor of Youth Studies at CUNY and a member of the 21st CCLC National Technical Assistance Advisory Group. Jen is a first-generation college graduate, also earning a masters and doctorate from NYU. She was named a 2018 NYS Rising Latino Star and NYU’s 2023 Distinguished Young Alumni Awardee.
